Mourning After
Includes streaming album Mourning After
I got to perform most of these in my first band back then and decided that they should be recorded for prosperity, LOL… so, in the year 2000, armed with my new digital 12 track porta studio, a PC and what ever microphones I could get my hands on, I set about recording this project. “Record your own CD”, they said, “how hard could it be?”…. surprisingly not that hard at all if you know the right people and I was very fortunate to have some very ridiculously talented musician friends and acquaintances at my “disposal”. In particular: Jim Frazer, Troy Moloney, John Charter and Sabrina Alison.
I have no idea what you would “class” any of these songs under and I don’t care either… I make no apologies for the way they sound, “daggy, dated, cliché, pretentious” etc, whatever… They worked out exactly the way I intended them to be and better… I wouldn’t change a single thing. These songs were written for my own amusement and healing during some dark times… If anyone else gets any enjoyment from them, well that’s just a bonus. As to why it took over 20 years for them to see the light of day… well, that’s another story and one that involves getting married and having a family…
So please, if you will, sit back in your comfy chair with your beverage of choice, surrounded by your best set of speakers (or headphones), turn the page and press play….
For far away to the east I sense a faint light and fear the approach of the Mourning After…
